The option: The residence “Azahar del Mediterráneo” offers the next services:
Accommodation and full board
The accommodation can be in double room, double room for individual use or a single room.
The kitchen of “Azahar del Mediterráneo” provides a restaurant service, with a chef and other kitchen personnel who are responsible for the everyday menus and dietary needs of residents.
Catering for special diets
As well as paying careful attention to control of diets and menu, the kitchen and dining room personnel will also make every effort to ensure residents feel comfortable during mealtimes, the most important time of the day.
All residents will receive an individual dietary evaluation in recognition of their special nutrition needs and dietary habits. This will be carried out on admission by a dietician and the Centre’s doctor. The prescribed dietary programme for every resident will take into consideration their nutrition needs, their physiological state and any medical conditions, with the aim of improving physical, mental and social health.
Religious Services
Mass will be celebrated in the Centre Chapel once a week for all residents who wish to take part.
Programmed visits to specialists
Resident visits to various specialists will be arranged as required by the Centre personnel, and a staff member of the resident’s choice will accompany them on these visits.
Medic assistance
Permanent medical assistance will be available onsite in “Azahar del Mediterráneo”. The medical aims of the complex are to:
- Evaluate each resident’s state of health and develop a personal health programme.
- Use principles and practice of preventive medicine.
- Develop a programme of mobilisation and rehabilitation
- Pay attention to the resident’s welfare needs
- Ensure all menus and diets for residents are supervised by the Centre’s dietician
- Consult with the resident’s family about any medical problems and advise on suitable action
- Oversee the sanitary conditions of the Centre.
Infirmary service
The Centre has a permanent infirmary service staffed by professional paramedics who take care of:
- Treatment regimes, control and administration of medication and injections, monitor blood pressures, take urine and blood specimens, and carry out electrocardiogram, etc.
- Promote the health of the resident using preventive measures and healthy habits.
- Help users of the Centre in their daily living activities if needed, and accompany residents in walking, excursions and their general free time.
- Liaison and consultation with external medical practitioners.
Attention to the whole person
Services will focus on the ‘whole person’ in their social context:
- The specific needs of psychological health (cognitive and emotional) are paid attention to.
- Participation in preventive health programmes will ensure healthy ageing under professional supervision.
- Cognitive Stimulation programmes will be offered.
- Collective and individual therapy programmes will be offered.
Occupational therapy
Occupational therapy is a basic activity to achieve maximum independence and improve the resident’s quality of life. Occupational therapy will focus on using self-care activities, working and free time to increase independence, to improve development and to prevent incapacity.
Rehabilitation and physiotherapy
There are specific programmes such as fitness classes, exercise regimes, programmes of active and passive mobilization, the application of non-aggressive therapy based on warm therapeutic effect, etc.
We also offer group physical activities, respiratory and the other relaxation techniques, pain relief and massage services, etc.
Social attention
An additional service we can offer you to help the person’s adaptation to social environment through integral and personalized attention to prevent the isolation, to help in the sorrow and to contribute to the conservation of his psychic and psychic faculties extremely keeping his autonomy, this way we favour to conserve the quality of full life.
Social cultural animation
This service is a key service in “Azahar del Mediterráneo” because it helps to foster the participation of the residents in the Centre activities in free time occupation avoiding so the situations of passivity, inactivity and boredom. There are different kinds of activities. It depends on the residents’ physic and psychic situations. For example, organized trips, concert and cinema attendance, the guide visits to expositions, etc.
The Hairdresser, Beautician and Manicure services
There is a beauty salon in the Centre. It can offer hairdressing, beautician and manicure services. The Centre will offer to the residents a basic package of the services included in the month price list and every one will be able to arrange optionally all the appointments he wants.
Podiatry service
It is an optional service offered by Centre. The specialist will come to the Centre following prior arrangement.
Laundry and ironing services
The collection and distribution of the service will be room-to-room.
Pharmacist
The Centre will have a secure pharmacy controlled by qualified personnel. Preparation and dispensation of medicines will be done in accordance with medical prescription, and carried out through supervised doses.
Personal hygiene:
- Help with resident’s cleaning and dressing needed.
- Monitor service.
- Everyday clearing service.
